Can you believe that there's really only ONE WEEK left of this competition?!? I can hardly believe it myself. I had to keep looking at the dates to be sure it was really true, and true it is. Let's review how this week went. I have to say that you've all done pretty darn well considering many of you were traveling, subject to others for sustenance and that Thanksgiving can be the most gluttonous holidays of the year! There were many of you who still earned all or most of your daily healthy habit points and/or maintained your weight from last week. I sure hope you see that as a WIN for the afore mentioned reasons. It can be tough and you made it through!! Let's check out those line-ups and remember WHY we started this challenge 8 weeks ago. It wasn't just about winning a competition, was it? Let's keep remembering that.
Believe it or not, we are already 3 days into December and if your calendar looks anything like mine then you are just entering into the crazy zone of the holiday festivities. Recitals, concerts and parties...Oh, my! As chaotic as it might look on paper (or your fancy spancy smartphone calendar app), it doesn't mean your life has to feel chaotic or crazy. I urge you to take time out every day, if just for a few moments, to be STILL. I know, I know, it sounds all zen-yogi-like and maybe you're not into that (believe me, I'm not either) but I do see the value in being quiet with my own thoughts or no thoughts at all, if for even a few moments. It allows me to see the big picture of my life and focus on the things that are truly important to me. When I take time to remember what's most important, then I'm much better about bringing that with me throughout my day and act accordingly. Suddenly, my daughter having perfect hair for a performance is no longer high on the priority list and I'm actually able to ENJOY the music of the performance instead of picking at/feeling stress over the details.
Have a wonderful week everyone and lets make THIS week the BEST week of the whole competition!!
