Don't you hate it when you take the time to pick out what you thought were crisp, delicious apples only to get home and realize...they are gross?  Either the skin is too thick or the insides are mushy or tasteless.  This is the answer to, "what the heck am I gonna do with these nasty things?"

For some reason, once they are sliced really thin and soaked in fruit juice, the thick skin and mushy insides aren't as big of a deal.  My kids LOVE it when I take the time to make these...and they make a quick addition to a lackluster looking lunchbox (say that 10 times)!

Here's the recipe and the link to the original post...

RAW APPLE SNACK

1-2 apples (select a sweet apple like Fuji or Gala)

1 medium orange

1 medium lemon

Directions:  Juice lemon and orange into a small bowl.  Slice the apple into thin slices.  Place slices into juice bowl and make sure the juice is all over the apple slices.  Place bowl in fridge for 30 minute to 2 hours.  Remove from fridge, serve and enjoy!!  Warning:  Contents are ADDICTING!

P.S.  I took the easy route and just dumped in some orange juice and a couple of squirts of lemon concentrate...yes, I am that lazy!

Let us know what you think if once you give this one a try!!
