Gratitude & Attitude are Choices

You make a lot of choices every day.  You choose to wake up to the alarm and prep for a workout or... hit snooze 5x and hope to be able to squeeze in a workout later in the day.  You choose whether you will incorporate nutrient dense foods in a balanced way or... sneak hoards of holiday candies and chow down excess portions of your favorite comfort foods.  You choose how you will act or react to the disappointments and frustrations that you may face.  You choose to meet challenges head on with grace, determination and a plan or... to crumple in a ball of defeat that may or may not look a lot like a cheese ball...and crackers...and....truffles...and self-pity...

My point is that you have choices.  You choose whether you will seek the little things to be grateful for.  You choose the attitude you will express to the world.  You are responsible for the choice to fall apart when the holiday parties and stress hit and if you will succumb to the temptation of over-indulging in yet another helping of Aunt Rose's famous stuffing.  You choose whether you will give up on your health goals because you didn't lose weight for 2 weeks in a row and it all just feels "too hard" to get past a stubborn plateau.   Ultimately, you will ultimately choose your level of commitment to make real, lasting changes to your daily habits on your quest to improved health no matter the "excuses".    

These choices are indeed blessings!  You get to be in the driver's seat of your health and navigate the course of your future.  Isn't that fantastic?!?  Embrace that responsibility and look forward with hope, living as if you have already reached your goals.  You don't have to wait until you see a specific number on a scale or measuring tape to begin living and experiencing all those wonderful things you "see" for yourself.  Live NOW and those visions of success will become your reality.
