Eileen is dropping sizes and reaching goals!

Eileen has gone from a size 12 to a size 2/4 in a little less than 6 months!!  That is an amazing accomplishment and we're so very proud of her hard work and dedication!  It's always exciting to watch as our participants meet their goals, whether it is a goal weight, a race, an event or even attitude!  Thank you for continuing to inspire us.

I just wanted to say how happy I am that I found this challenge.  Year after year I have made New Year resolutions; well, actually, it was the same resolution every year, to lose weight.  And every year, I was lucky if I made it to the end of January before completely going back to my regular way of doing things.  This year, I swore it would be different.  

I started by NOT making a resolution, but rather by setting a goal for myself.  I set a goal of running a 5K this year (there was a secondary goal of beating my son’s time, but I wasn’t sure if that would be possible).  I started with a few friends, encouraging each other and checking in regularly.  After several weeks of doing that, and having dropped the first 10 pounds, I found this challenge and joined the March challenge for individuals.  This kept me motivated and continuing to strive to reach the goals I had set for myself.  In fact, I lowered my goal weight by an additional 5 pounds from what I had set back in January and have almost achieved that goal.  I have already signed up for the May challenge and am looking forward to maintaining the good habits I have started.  

I ran my first 5K this past weekend and finished in 28 minutes...which, by the way, was 2 minutes faster than my son’s time!  And I have just signed up for another 5K in a couple of weeks.  I wanted to thank you for the motivation and encouragement and the general competition of this challenge in helping me to achieve my goals.

I am honored that you are sharing my story.  I have found such motivation in others' stories;  I only hope that my story helps someone as well.
